Cobham-based Rushmon Homes is a company that likes to contribute to its local communities, and the company’s latest good deed is the donation of a state-of-the-art photocopier to Furzefield Primary School in Merstham, near Redhill. The idea came about over a recent business breakfast at the Hilton Hotel in Cobham, attended by Susie Wade, Financial Controller for Rushmon Homes and Andy Willmott, one of the Regional Managers at the Surrey Chamber of Commerce. Susie explained how a recent office move meant there was no longer space for the copier, and Andy, with his contacts at the school, knew they would be very pleased to have it.

Susie Wade said: “We were absolutely delighted that we were able to help the school out with the copier, and that it has gone to a good home. We seem to live in such a throwaway society nowadays, so I’m pleased it will continue to be of use.”

According to Andy Willmott, Furzefield Primary School is “over the moon” about the gift. He continued: “It’s good to see a company like Rushmon Homes making efforts to help the community. We were also pleased from an environmental point of view, as we try wherever possible to avoid sending things to landfill.” In fact, the donation seemed to inspire good community feelings all round. A local courier company, Frank Brown Delivers, agreed to transport the machine for a nominal price. Andy Willmott commented: “It’s nice to see people work together.”
