New Home & New Baby: Big life change for Barry & Vanessa
12th March, 2008
It’s fair to say that Barry and Vanessa had quite a lot going on towards the end of 2007. On December 22nd, their move to their first home together, a two bedroom apartment at Rushmon Homes’ Aspirations development in Sutton, was followed only five days later by the arrival of baby Ruby on December 27th. Barry admits: “We were panicking a bit but in the end everything worked out fine.”
Barry and Vanessa were in fact the first buyers to move in to Aspirations. Because of their special circumstances, Rushmon Homes’ Field Sales Manager John Garrett pulled out all the stops to help. Barry says: “John was great. He put us to the top of the list and made sure our flat was finished first. He did everything he could for us.” He also praises site agent Terry Mullord for his helpful attitude. “Nothing was too much trouble. In fact, all the workmen have been lovely, very polite. They always open doors for Vanessa and ask how the baby’s doing.”
As well as being proud new parents, Barry and Vanessa are also delighted new homeowners. They are very happy with their apartment with its large open plan kitchen/living room “in the turret,” as Barry describes it. “There’s room in the kitchen area for a table and six chairs, and the en suite bathroom is a big bonus,” he says. “Our friends and family are impressed and all have commented on the high standard of finish.”
However, what first attracted the couple to Aspirations was the exterior appearance. After looking at several new developments in the Sutton area, they preferred the look of Aspirations over others. “Unlike the others, it’s not just a square block. It really caught our eye, and inside it’s ten times better than anything we’ve seen,” says Barry.
Having lived in Cheam for many years, Barry and Vanessa are now settling in to Sutton life. It’s very convenient for both of their jobs. Vanessa, although currently on maternity leave, normally drives to Tolworth, where she works for a merchant bank. Site manager Barry is currently based in the City, which he finds very easy to get to by train from Sutton, getting to Moorgate within an hour. They meet friends and relatives in Sutton town centre and again, find the location of Aspirations very handy. Vanessa often walks, with the pram, which takes her about a quarter of an hour: or she can take the Hoppa bus, which stops on the corner. Very useful for a new mum.
There are now just three homes left at Aspirations, which sold quickly after launching last summer. The remaining apartments, all with two bedrooms, are priced from £276,500, and Rushmon Homes is making a valuable £5000 contribution towards stamp duty for anyone who makes their reservation by 18th February. All the apartments have individually designed kitchens with integrated and stainless steel appliances, bathrooms and en-suites are in classic white with chrome fittings, cherry-effect doors, underfloor heating, and eco features including solar powered communal lighting.
